Job Title: Legal and Compliance Manager

Dymaxa Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Legal and Compliance Manager to join our client's dynamic team in the Johannesburg region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal interpretation and advice to the General Secretary and Bargaining Council Staff.
  • Review and provide advice on legal documents, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Monitor and review ongoing cases, advising management on the best course of action.
  • Represent the Council in arbitration or other proceedings as required by the General Secretary.
  • Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with external lawyers to ensure effective management.
  • Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.
  • Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management on general compliance and contract management.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure appropriate action is taken when legal risks are identified.
  • Disseminate legal information and requirements to staff, conducting training sessions as needed.
  • Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
  • Review and/or draft contracts, agreements, and internal policies to ensure compliance with statutory or other legal requirements.
  • Receive, review, and present exemptions applications, drafting outcome letters as necessary.
  • Formulate compliance checklists to ensure all required information is provided.
  • Implement relevant internal control measures to ensure compliance.
  • Manage Designated Agents, setting targets and ensuring monthly plans align with the Council's strategic vision.
  • Manage compliance order processes and the Case Management function, ensuring monthly plans align with the Bargaining Council's strategic vision.
  • Ensure all information is captured and updated on the SAP system.
  • Develop strategic plans for the legal team and assist with budget preparation.
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly reports from Agents for presentation to the General Secretary.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the department for executive management meetings.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, training, and development of case management staff and agents to ensure an effective and motivated team.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and ensure competency and training gaps are registered.
  • Develop an annual Skills Development Plan for Designated Agents and Case Managers.
Requirements:
  • LLB Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Labour Relations.
  • MS Office experience.
  • Experience working on SAP.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Labour Relations.
  • Sound knowledge of collective bargaining.
  • Managerial experience (essential).
  • Valid Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to regions.
General Office Management Requirements:
  • LLB Degree and/or Labour Law experience (essential).
  • MS Office experience.
  • Experience working on SAP.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Labour Relations.
  • Sound knowledge of collective bargaining.
  • Managerial experience (essential).
  • Valid Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to regions.

Own reliable transport essential.

Salary: R48 000 TCTC
