Renewable Energy Project Specialist

We are seeking a skilled biomass project engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of biomass power generation projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Identification: Provide technical support in identifying and assessing the feasibility of biomass power plants opportunities, including pre-feasibility studies.
- Concept Development: Conduct concept and feasibility stage analysis for biomass power plants, including writing engineering specifications, creating preliminary layouts and process flow diagrams.
- Techincal Support: Define and calculate all technical inputs for the business plan, including production curves and balance sheets for the power plant.
- Consultant Engagement: Appoint and engage with engineering consultants to support project delivery.
- Bid Submission: Assist in submitting competitive bids for biomass power projects.
- EPC Process: Participate in the EPC process, including offer evaluation, negotiation sessions, and contract drafting with consultants and clients.
- Design Evaluation: Supervise an owner engineer and assess the design of biomass power plants to identify optimal technical and economical solutions.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate technical risks on the project and identify sensitivity curves.
- CAPEX/OPEX Analysis: Conduct capital expenditure and operational expenditure analysis for the project.
- O&M Strategy: Develop an operations and maintenance strategy for biomass power plant operation, including commissioning, ramp-up, organogram, recruitment, training, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of biomass power plant technologies, including combustion, gasification, and/or anaerobic digestion.
- Profile with experience in conventional thermal power plants will be considered.
- 3-5 years of prior experience in the biomass power sector.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in designing and developing renewable energy projects is preferred.
- Strong understanding of local regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong project management skills.
- Languages - Excellent level in English. Fluency in French would be a plus.
- Computer skills: AutoCAD or equivalent and MS Office Packages.
