About the Role:
The Youth Worker, Residential Care is responsible for providing care and/or support to children and young people in out of home care and/or living within at risk families. The care and support provided will enhance opportunities for the young person to participate in age-appropriate activities, develop positive self-regard, and contribute to placement stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to children and young people in out of home care and/or living within at risk families.
- Enhance opportunities for the young person to participate in age-appropriate activities.
- Develop positive self-regard and contribute to placement stability.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator and Service Manager to develop trauma-informed interventions.
Requirements:
- Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services, or a related field.
- Current Blue Card or a pending application.
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS).
- Completion of Hope and Healing Framework training.
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence.

- Ability to engage children and youth in purposeful activities.
- Proactive communicator and relationship builder with others from diverse backgrounds.
- Utilize trauma-informed approach in understanding child development and behaviour.
- Capability to recognize the role of family dynamics, particularly in child protection contexts.
