We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team in Shoprite. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, pricing strategy, and retail environment.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

Job Description:

Data Analysis and Insights

The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze data and provide insights that support the development of pricing strategies. This includes gathering and consolidating complex data from various sources, applying data mining and statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns, and creating reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Assist the Category Insights Manager in creating reports and recalculating metrics, including competitor analysis, category roles, Key Value Items (KVIs), and target price indices.
  • Develop and maintain tools and files to support pricing strategy refresh, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
  • Coordinate with Analytical Engineer on competitor data source updates to ensure current and accurate data.
Item Relationships Support

This role involves monitoring updates related to new Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), updated SKUs, incorrect item relationships, and dead/delisted SKUs in SAP. Additionally, it includes managing follow-up processes, organizing weekly meetings with the tool core team, and providing ad-hoc assistance and expertise to Category Specialists.

  • Manage the follow-up process, including reviews of new SKUs not timely.
  • Organize and run weekly meetings with the tool core team to discuss updates and ensure overall alignment on dependencies.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance and expertise to Category Specialists on item relationship updates upon request.
Tool Development, Monitoring, Utilization, and Training

This role requires supporting the Category Insights Manager in creating monthly tool usage reports, identifying Buyers/categories with high percentage overrides, and investigating overrides. Additionally, it involves providing input to new functionality developments on the tool and supporting the definition of tool training materials, training schedules, and engagements with Buyers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
  • +1 years' experience in a Data Analyst or similar role, solving business and technology problems through applying data analysis techniques within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience applying data mining, modeling, and mathematical and/or statistical concepts and methodology to support strategic business objectives.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and data analysis toolkits.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office 365 with advanced Excel skills.
