Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to our engineering team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver complex projects.
  2. Project Management: Manage and coordinate multidiscipline engineering project activities, ensuring projects are executed in a safe, technically compliant, efficient, cost-effective, and timely manner.
  3. Design and Development: Develop and implement engineering designs, specifications, and standards that meet local regulations and industry best practices.
  4. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver projects successfully.
  5. Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expert (SME) support and expertise to project managers and project engineers, ensuring they have the necessary technical knowledge to deliver projects.
  6. Quality and Safety: Monitor and enforce quality and safety in accordance with company policy, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  7. Risk Management: Conduct technical risk management and communicate risks to relevant stakeholders, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  8. Compliance: Identify and keep track of all engineering-related governance and compliance issues, ensuring all projects are delivered in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (HC)
  2. 15 Yrs. experience in HV electrical field with minimum 10 yrs. as a protection designer, 8 yrs in Solar and Renewable
  3. Professional Engineering (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng.)
  4. Strong Technical knowledge in Solar PV, off-grid batteries, and distributions
  5. Comfort working with a small, growing company with aggressive targets
  6. Experience managing budgets
  7. Ability to understand commercial considerations related to projects
  8. Detailed understanding of design and operation of modern protection relay technology and substation automation and its application through to commissioning
  9. Detailed understanding of design of primary electrical plant in transmission and distribution substations
  10. A working knowledge of the civil and mechanical engineering aspects of substations and overhead power lines
  11. In-depth knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific technology and technical skills
