Job Title: Head of Data Integration

At Nedbank, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Data Integration to lead our data integration initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing data integration strategies that align with business objectives, building and developing a high-performing data integration team, and overseeing data quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement data integration strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Build and develop a team of data engineers and lead engineers to create a high-performing data integration team.
  • Oversee data quality and consistency, enforcing data standards and quality through data pipelines.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure closer collaboration and effective data management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, adopting new technologies and ensuring best practices are world-class.
  • Ensure the data warehouse and enterprise data marts are governed and controlled to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Unlock the value of Nedbank's data products and drive innovation through data-driven practices that support commercialization.
  • Manage the team effectively and efficiently across the HR value chain, including recruitment, performance management, retention of critical staff, succession planning, and coaching and talent management.
  • Collaborate with Group Technology to develop and maintain overall data architecture that aligns data integration efforts with overall IT strategy.
  • Oversee and guide the design and implementation of robust data pipelines for various data sources and the selection and management of data integration tools and platforms.
  • Develop strategies for efficient data integration across the organization.
  • Oversee and prioritize seamless data flow between different systems and applications.
  • Implement real-time data streaming solutions for operational needs.
  • Develop efficient processes to extract data from trusted sources systems (Core Banking, Treasury, Trade Finance, Risk Systems, etc.).
  • Provide guidance and manage the transformation of data into standardized formats suitable for analysis and reporting.
  • Implement processes for loading data into the data warehouse and enterprise mart and provisioning data to LoB in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Build and manage operational data stores for real-time decision support.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in data integration and engineering roles.
  • Experience in managing a team of data professionals.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data integration tools and techniques to drive business value.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
