About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Santam Insurance. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the financial strategy and direction of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting
    • Develop and implement financial reporting processes that meet the requirements of the Santam Group and regulatory bodies.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including IFRS and regulatory reporting.
    • Manage the financial reporting team and provide guidance on financial reporting matters.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting
    • Develop and implement effective forecasting and budgeting processes that support business decision-making.
    • Provide financial planning and analysis support to the business.
  • Statutory and Regulatory Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including IFRS and regulatory reporting.
    • Manage the review and audit engagements conducted by the Santam group external auditors.
  • People Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a diverse team of financial professionals.
    • Drive employee engagement, succession, and development.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior financial role.
  • Experience in setting up financial reporting processes.
  • Experience in data management and analytics is strongly recommended.
  • Experience in reinsurance technical accounting and Enterprise Risk management reporting would be advantageous.
  • Insurance industry experience is strongly recommended.
