Butler Job Description

Crew Life at Sea is seeking a skilled Butler to provide exceptional personalized service to our guests on board our luxury cruise ships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personalized Service: Anticipate and meet the needs of our guests, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience.
  • Guest Assistance: Greet guests warmly, escort them to their cabins, and assist with luggage handling and unpacking as needed.
  • Dining Coordination: Arrange and coordinate dining reservations and special requests, ensuring a high level of service during meals.
  • In-Cabin Services: Maintain guest cabins to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Butler Services: Fulfill various guest requests, such as arranging in-room dining, providing garment pressing and shoe shining services, and organizing celebrations.
  • Personal Shopping: Assist guests with onboard shopping, including escorting them to boutique areas and arranging for purchases to be delivered to their cabins.
  • Entertainment and Excursions: Assist guests with entertainment options and onboard activities, including organizing and coordinating reservations for shows, excursions, and spa appointments.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication with guests, colleagues, and various ship departments to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Special Services: Provide additional services as required, such as packing and unpacking luggage, organizing private parties or gatherings, and arranging for special amenities or surprises.
Requirements:
  • Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and polished demeanor.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to anticipate guest needs and ensure accuracy in service delivery.
  • Discretion and Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling guest interactions and personal information.
  • Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in English is required, with additional language skills advantageous.
  • Cultural Awareness: Cultural sensitivity and awareness to cater to a diverse international clientele.
  • Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the cruise ship's schedule and guest demands.
  • Previous Experience: Prior experience as a butler or in a similar personalized service role is preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing circumstances to meet guest needs and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise.
