Parts Sales Team Lead

Job Purpose:

To maximize the sales of parts to internal and external customers and focus on the acquisition and retention of customers, in order to achieve the agreed profit. Ensure full compliance to procedures as specified. To timeously perform parts duties according to the policies and procedures of the company in order to expedite the efficient running of the parts department on order that profitability is maximized while ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Sell parts to repair the defect and meet the customer's needs, the first time. Ensure first quotation is correct.
  • Customer Interaction: Listen to the customer's explanation and have a clear understanding of part of component location.
  • Personal Development: Show interest in personal development and the willingness to learn more about the product. Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledge all customers he/she comes in contact with.
  • Work Efficiency: Personally manage work efficiency.
  • Parts Department: Assist in keeping parts department clean and orderly.
  • Order Processing: Ensure that all parts used are recorded on the job card.
  • Cash and Credit Processing: When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash and credit processing procedures of the dealership. Processes orders, warranties, and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale.
  • Shortages and Expedite: Follow up on shortages and expedite by reporting to Parts Manager.
  • Inventory Control: Ensure that the correct items have been picked the first time.
  • Business Growth: Always demonstrate an interest in growing the parts business.
  • Merchandising: Assist with Parts Manager in merchandising displays.
  • Showroom Inventory: Controls showroom inventory to ensure maximum sales and customer satisfaction.
Development and Growth:
  • Training and Development: Participate in all relevant training programs.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share your new knowledge with team as team lead.
  • Personal Learning: Take note to do personal learning and self-development.
Risk Management:
  • Stock Management: Minimize any risk of stock shortage/stock losses.
  • Material Handling: All material handling tools, and equipment handled according to prescribed dealership standards.
  • Access Control: Access control procedures adhered to.
Customer Care and Breakdown Attendance:
  • Breakdown Attendance: You may be required from time to time by your manager to work outside of normal working hours to assist the stand-by technician with parts.
  • Record Keeping: Record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur.
  • Job Cards: Ensure that all breakdown job cards (both electronic and manual) are properly loaded and parts recorded.
Housekeeping:
  • Orderliness and Cleanliness: Control orderliness and cleanliness.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all Health and Safety rules are adhered to at all times.
Monitoring and Leadership:
  • Teamwork: Ensure a good working relationship with colleagues and peers.
  • Corrective Action: Take corrective action on out-of-line items.
  • Tool and Asset Management: Proper adherence to company rules regarding the use of tool, special tools and company assets.
  • Wellness and Confidence: Promote wellness and encourage confidence in job analysis and understanding within the team.
Educational Qualifications:
  • Matric: Matric
Relevant Years of Experience:
  • Minimum 3 Years: Minimum 3 years as a parts sales interpreter Team Lead.
  • Commercial Vehicle Parts Experience: Experienced in all aspects of commercial vehicle parts and familiar with other OEM's.
Competencies:
  • People Handling and Leadership: Good people handling and leadership skills.
  • Communication: Good communication skills.
  • Time Management: Good time management skills.
  • Administrative Skills: Strong administrative skills.
  • Excel Knowledge: Advanced Excel knowledge will be an advantage.
