Job Title: Golf Director

Job Summary:

The Golf Director is responsible for managing all golf and golf-related activities and business. This includes planning, promoting, and directing all golf activities, preparing annual and monthly budgets, and ensuring that pin positions, tee positions, and course equipment are correctly implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, promote, and direct all golf activities
  • Prepare annual and monthly budgets for golf operations
  • Ensure correct implementation of pin positions, tee positions, and course equipment
  • Oversee green speed and green condition
  • Cooperate with the greens keeper on maintenance issues
  • Assist in developing short and long-term plans for golf course improvements
  • Order supplies associated with golfing activities
  • Help out in the Pro Shop and with scoring and cash ups
  • Monitor staff performance and labour costs
  • Accommodate the Ladies section and assist with member-related issues
  • Oversee charges and fees for golf-related activities
  • Consult with the CEO and committee on golf course and practice area operations
  • Attend staff, management, and golf committee meetings
  • Adhere to health, safety, and employment rules
  • Administer green fees systems and bookings
  • Plan social evenings to promote golf and fellowship
  • Attend national and sectional conferences and meetings
  • Interpret and enforce club rules, golf rules, and policies
  • Oversee golf operations for corporate golf days
  • Manage bookings and arrangements for Golf Groups, Clubs, and Societies
  • Maintain visibility to members and promote proactive marshalling
  • Organise and conduct club tournaments and events
  • Manage and train caddies

Working Hours:

The normal working hours are shifts of 05h45 to 15h00 or 10h00 to 18h00 during the week. However, on golf days, the Director must ensure that all is covered until prize giving has been completed. The Director must also be available to work three weekends a month.
