Job Title: Warehouse and Logistics Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join our team at Quality Connect Staffing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management of our warehouse and logistics operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Warehouse and Logistics Efficiency: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice logistics vision, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance.
  • Warehouse Maintenance and Scheduled Deliveries: Oversee warehouse maintenance and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Logistics Problem-Solving: Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
  • Quality and Service: Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports.
  • Savings and Cost Optimization: Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process.
  • Data Analysis: Interpret trends and analyze data to provide meaningful logistics insights to the business.
People Management:
  • Team Management: Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results.
  • Performance Management: Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
Financial Budget and Control:
  • Department Budget: Hold responsibility for department budget and ensure control on all expenses.
Relationship Management:
  • Relationship Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders involved in the logistics process.
  • Order Fulfillment: Ensure all completed orders are dispatched on time.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs regulations, and legal and health & safety requirements.
Health and Safety:
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Comply with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
  • Operational Safety: Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors.
  • ISO Compliance: Ensure that the operation of the warehouse meets with the ISO requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualifications: A formal qualification in Operations Management/Logistics is required.
  • Experience: Experience in the steel industry is highly desirable.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.

  • Logical Approach: A logical and systematic approach to work is required.
  • Time Management: Good time management ability is necessary.

  • Computer Literacy: Good computer literacy, including MS Office and/or other relevant IT systems, is necessary.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people, are required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary.
  • Negotiation and Analytical Skills: Negotiation and analytical skills are essential.
