Job Requirements


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Wild Dreams Hospitality. As a key member of our culinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement menus for various customer needs
  • A la Carte food preparation for our restaurant
  • Room Service menu items for in-house guests
  • Buffet style cooking for weddings, conferences, and other functions up to 150 guests
  • Stand in for management when needed
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
  • Train and lead junior staff and interns
  • Assist and direct kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating, and service
  • Daily cash up and reconciliations
  • Front of house duties including check in/out of guests and guest relations
  • Back of house duties and managing the lodge in the General Manager's absence

Requirements



  • At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a luxury lodge environment
  • Strong creativity and passion for culinary arts, with a focus on diverse cuisines and modern cooking techniques
  • Initiative and a self-starter who can work unsupervised
  • Confident leading the team when management are away
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and organization
  • Computer literate
  • Confident in menu planning, portion control, and costing

Salary and Benefits


R11kpm-12Kpm (DOE). This is a live-in position with meals included.
