Main Responsibilities:
  • Welcome guests at assigned tables and ensure each receives a menu and wine list in a timely manner.
  • Familiarize yourself with all menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Ensure tables are set with linens, silverware, and glasses prior to guest arrival.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders using the POS system and deliver within specified time limits.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless order execution.
  • Clear dirty cutlery and crockery from tables once guests have finished.
  • Offer dessert and coffee options to guests and engage in upselling opportunities.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic restaurant environment, adhering to high standards of cleanliness.
  • Presentation matters: maintain a crisp, well-groomed appearance at all times.
Main Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Prior experience as a server in a similar upscale environment (3 years) or Senior Server (5 years).
  • A basic understanding of wine and surrounding wine regions.
  • Hands-on experience with cash registers and ordering information systems.
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to remain patient and composed under pressure, while providing attentive service to distinguished clientele.
  • Candidates must be well-presented, flexible, and accountable.
  • An enthusiastic personality and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
