We are seeking a seasoned Senior Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality assurance team in Cape Town. This key role will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing safety, quality, and compliance standards across multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain BRCGS Packaging Materials and SEDEX certification by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Audit and report on BRC compliance at other facilities, including JHB, Busmark, Range Road, and others, to identify areas for improvement and ensure consistency.
  • Oversee laboratory operations to guarantee consistent product quality, adhering to GMP and sanitation standards.
  • Address customer complaints and non-conformances efficiently, providing timely solutions and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage document control processes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation is maintained.
  • Stay current with food laws and regulations, ensuring facility and product compliance, and provide expert guidance to the team.
  • Develop actionable solutions to complex quality and food safety issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in meetings with the Production Management Team to improve quality and sanitation, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate product trials, documenting results and insights to inform future decision-making.
  • Conduct regular hygiene, GMP, sanitation, and safety inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage environmental monitoring, calibration, and pest control programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Handle the Health and Safety budget, allocating resources effectively to support business objectives.
  • Draft, implement, and maintain the health, safety, and environmental management system, ensuring ongoing effectiveness.
  • Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) analysis, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BRC standards and procedures, with experience in auditing and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Syspro, maintenance, and quality assurance systems, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
  • Certified training in HACCP and internal auditing, with a proven track record of implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety management systems and regulatory requirements, with a focus on ensuring compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, results-driven mindset, and excellent communication skills.

Estimated Salary: R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
