Responsibilities
  • Underwrite complex reinsurance treaties, utilizing advanced rating tools and analyzing data to ensure accurate risk assessment and portfolio management.
  • Analyze claims received on a daily basis, managing the entire process within established procedures and guidelines, and referring contentious claims to senior management or legal and compliance officers as necessary.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance client relationships and acquire new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring timely filing and auditing, and collaborating with Treaty Accounting Services to guarantee up-to-date accounts and cash payments.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including immediate team members, senior management, and external partners, to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • An undergraduate degree in business, commerce, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the short-term insurance industry, preferably in specialist lines such as property and casualty underwriting.
  • Proven track record of initiating and following through on projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, critically assess and review own work, and prioritize tasks effectively.
What We Offer

We provide a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive salary range of R1,200,000 - R1,800,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus generous benefits and a hybrid working environment with flexible hours and opportunities for career advancement.
