Slitter Extrusion Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Slitter Castline Operator to join our team at Complement Recruitment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our slitter machines, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to the success of our manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain slitter machines to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
- Monitor and control the quality of the extruded products, identifying and addressing any defects or abnormalities
- Collaborate with the production team to achieve production targets and improve process efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating machines, and reporting any issues or concerns to the senior operator
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, identifying areas for optimization and implementing changes to improve productivity and quality
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, and report any incidents or near-misses to the senior operator
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience operating machinery in a FMCG or Packaging manufacturing environment
- Certificate or Diploma in Plastic Manufacturing/Extrusion Operations advantageous
- Grade 12 with Maths essential
- Technically minded with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on quality and safety
