About the Role


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and developing a team of SAICA trainee accountants. They will contribute to the overall management of the department, delivering high-quality audit services while meeting strict statutory requirements.



Key Responsibilities



  • Manage client relationships and develop strategic plans to drive business growth;
  • Lead and mentor a team of auditors, providing coaching and guidance to ensure their continued development;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, ensuring the department remains technically competent and compliant with regulatory requirements;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.


Requirements


To be considered for this role, you must have:



  • A recognized accounting qualification (CA(SA));
  • Completion of a SAICA Training contract – Audit & Assurance elective;
  • A minimum of 1-2 years post-article experience in an audit firm;
  • Excellent knowledge of auditing standards, IFRS, and IFRS for SMEs;
  • Working knowledge of SAICA, IRBA, and other applicable Professional Codes of Conduct;
  • Proficient in CaseWare working papers;
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken) in English and Afrikaans;
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel.


Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of R750,000 per annum, plus benefits such as medical aid, retirement funding, and a generous leave allowance.
