Fraud Team Leader

**ROLE PURPOSE**

The Fraud Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day investigation, analysis and reporting of any fraudulent activities on all Customer platforms related to transactions, recons, queries etc. the person will also be responsible to manage one / more Fraud Analysts and to design, implement and train employees / customer Fraud and Compliance policies and procedures.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS**
- Analysing investigating, reporting and escalating any suspicious transactions across all Customer platforms.
- Consolidation and completion of all internal Reporting Requirements (for example, Monthly Report Packs).
- Creating internal training material for all items Fraud, Risk and Compliance related.
- Staying abreast with relevant legislative requitements / changes and making recommendations for improvements/ changes needed for the company to manage risk.
- Updating the Fraud and Compliance database with relevant documentation, reports etc.
- Providing input to Fraud, Risk and Compliance policies and procedures.
- Resolving and / or ensuring all fraud-related queries are completed and can be closed.
- Assist in the administration of all tasks in respect of client onboarding processes.
- Working closely with the Head of Legal.
- Manage one / more Fraud Analysts - including their daily tasks, performance, training, coaching and creating a positive team morale.
- Assist Operation managers with projects, projects administration; coordination and follow-up with team members where required.

**QUALIFICATION, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- 3 years’ experience within the Risk and Compliance area within the Banking / Retail / Finance (or similar sectors) essential.
- Matric and a Diploma / Degree in a relevant field (i.e., Business, BCom, Finance, Risk etc.) essential.
- Ability to interpret large volumes of information and provide detailed and summary opinions essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and Advanced Computer literacy skills (essential).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English essential; Afrikaans, Xhosa. Somali - ideal).
- Experience in managing a small team (beneficial).

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to work in Cape Town CBD offices or at home when required.
- South African citizen.
- Clear criminal; credit and fraud record.
- Driver’s licence and own reliable transport (beneficial).
