**Phoenix, KZN. **Leading manufacturer seeks Industrial Relations Officer with completed HR or equivalent degree and at least 5 years Industrial Relations experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Onboarding and induction of all scheduled employees and management of contracts including drafting, renewals, changes and terminations
- Communicate with NUMSA, or whichever relevant TU, in a professional manner - ensuring that meetings are set up correctly, attending those meetings and leading the process on behalf of the Employer
- Guide Production Managers and Team Leaders through the disciplinary process as well as through performance reviews
- Setting up of disciplinary enquiries, ensuring fair and correct procedures, appropriate briefing of all participants
- Managing the grievance procedure, from initiation to conclusion
- Rapid intervention in the face of Industrial Action (whether protected or unprotected) and / or any labour unrest
- Monitoring leave trends, liaising with relevant departments (payroll, HR, production)
- Investigating critical / complex employee relations issues
- Expertly guide the senior team on all matters IR, ensuring that relevant legislation is adhered to, and that company policy is upheld
- Consistently feedback to workforce and management

**Requirements**:

- Completed Human Resource degree / equivalent
- Completed Labour Relations certification or similar
- 5 years’ experience specialising in IR
- 3 years’ experience within a similar environment
- Thorough working knowledge of LRA, BCEA, OHS, SDA, EE, UIF
- Experienced in representing the employer at Bargaining Council level (conciliation, arbitration, preparation of witnesses, cross examination - all aspects of litigation within this context)
- Must be able to communicate in both English and Zulu
- Proficient in MS Office
