Our Client in the Electrical Industry requires an HR and Payroll Officer to join their team.

This role is responsible for on-time and accurate processing of the payroll, maintaining data integrity, information security and providing accurate and timeous information to employees and management. There must be adherence to all legislative requirements and company policies & procedures. This role also provides an administration support service to the HR Team.

**Duties Required**:

- **Provide an accurate and cost-effective payroll administration service compliant with corporate governance and statutory requirement**:

- Ensure all work related to salary processing meets prescribed standards
- Co-ordinate the salary increases and short-term incentive payment processes
- Manage the maintenance of Org Structures on the Self-Service portal
- Compile monthly stats and reports
- **Provide an effective and efficient salary processing administrative service**:

- Maintain and update HR Master Data and check system updates for impact
- Maintain company organisational structures, verifying cost centres and workflows
- Process weekly and monthly salaries and salary related transactions
- Processing payable hours, overtime, commissions, bonuses, tax, PAYE, UIF, EMP 201, 501, Skills Levies etc
- Prepare Offers, CTC statements for HR divisions on request
- Answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
- Payroll Reconciliation
- **Continuously review systems and processes to improve efficiency and cost savings**:

- Introduce new ideas or improvements to streamline the payroll system
- Staying informed and keeping abreast of company policies, tax legislation and system changes that impact on remuneration and payroll functions
- Updates/new developments shared timeously
- **Provide an effective and efficient Time and Attendance administrative service.**:

- Capturing of leave, sick leave and absenteeism
- Submission of journals to finance
- Ensuring benefits are captured and processed correctly.
- Completes monthly reconciliation with Medical Aid, Pension, PAYE, other reports
- Maintaining employee records (contracts)
- Facilitates Injury on Duty and Workmen's Comp processes with Local Dept of Labour
- Assist HR Team to co-ordinate and organise interviews, assessments, liaison with hiring managers
- Assist with compiling information for WSP & EE submissions.
- Facilitate all exit employee admin: UIF, Pension withdrawal, Medical Aid Exit
- Facilitate admin and logistics for Dept. Of Labour Inspections and Financial Audits.
- Build effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Stand-in duties for the HR Division when needed
- Assist the HR team with filing, scanning, and general administration

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Diploma OR Payroll related qualification
- Min 3 - 5 years’ experience in a medium size company doing end to end payroll
- SAGE courses plus Sage Business Cloud Payroll Professional (SBCPP) and VIP Premier
- Knowledge of relevant Labour and Tax Legislation and change
- Headcount 150+ Medium size company
- 4 payrolls - 3 monthly and 1 weekly

**Salary**: R22,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Payroll: 4 years (required)
- Sage: 4 years (required)
- VIP Premier: 4 years (required)
- Labour and Tax Legislation: 4 years (required)
