**Job Description**:

- In the scope of work, the Specialist Benefits will work closely with the Manger Rewards and Policy to make defined policies and standards come alive in the context of Anglo-American Platinum’s strategy and operating environment. The key activities of this role are to
- Act as custodian of the benefits policies and procedures within Anglo American Platinum’s
- Ensure flexibility regarding localised developments within Anglo American Platinum’s employee benefits
- Maintain legislative compliance requirements regarding Pension Funds Act and FSB
- Provide oversight on the management of employee pension fund by the appointed service provider
- Provide guidance relating to implementation employee benefits i.e., Disability, Death, Funeral, Mine related benefits, housing & all company related benefits
- Support the execution of the company’s benefits related strategies
- Manage the employee benefits processes that support talent attraction and retention strategies i.e., conditions of employment, medical aid, pension fund
- Develop the unclaimed benefits policy and procedures to guide the business
- Communicate all new, revised, and legal changes to all stakeholders Anglo American Platinum’s PMC, Remco, organised labour, HRMs, HRLT, ER

**This role is at our **Johannesburg **Corporate Office, at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Rewards and Policy.**
- Qualifications
- NQF 7 Degree in commerce or business science (B. Com, BBS)

**Experience**:

- 5 years’ experience in managing pension / retirement and / or provident funds and other employee benefits
- Proficient in Benchmarking: Identifies and manages appropriate Retirement fund benchmarking resources in line with rewards policy. Makes recommendations on Fund reviews and bargaining mandates
- Proficient in Retirement Fund structuring: Recommends appropriate Retirement fund structures for the organisation. Costs and Benefit structures
- Proficient in Employee Conditions of Employment and benefits: Has good knowledge of employee benefits, legal requirements, governance requirements and market trends across different labour markets
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with organising and planning skills
- Good analytical and diagnosis skills
- Proficient with negotiation skills
- Advanced computer skills
