Account Payable Supervisor

**Overall Job Purpose**:
To assume a support role to the Accounts Payable Manager to plan, organise, control and evaluate the full operation of the Accounts Payable Department and processes associated with the accurate processing of purchase orders, processing and payment of invoices and the creation of vendor account reconciliations. Actively identify and scope opportunities to drive standardization, ensure customers and vendors are appropriately trained, improve processes, evaluate and manage staff within this section, implement and administer compliance to policies and procedures and ensure conformance with best practice of a Shared Service environment.

B Degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field

**Responsibilities**:
**Output 1 - **collection, reviewing and presenting of supporting documentation and reporting to internal/external auditors within prescribed time.
- Initiate and participate in meetings and provide reports of accounts payable issues and resolutions.
- Act as backup bank B releaser in verifying, authorising and releasing payments on the business banking platform.
Support AP Manager with all ad hoc projects, implementations and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
**Output 2 - Develop**, **implement, maintain and ensure compliance with systems, procedures and policies**
- Monitor procedures for the Accounts Payable functions to comply with statutory regulation, internal and external audit requirements as well as company policy.
- Monitor and maintain best practices in complying with requirements of a Shared Service environment.
- Monitor and provide guidance to employees as needed on, system, process, or policy issues;
- Perform business process analysis and performance benchmarking; make recommendations and draft and present a business plan for improving efficiencies through process mapping, technology, gap analysis and Accounts Payable reporting.
**Output 3 - Staff management**
- Recruit and retain appropriate quality staff and create a working environment that is conducive to learning and development.
- Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, compliance with KPI and SOP’s and work productivity.
- Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for actions.
- Continuously implements initiatives to create and maintain a positive and energetic working environment in the team.
**Output 4 - Financial Management**
- Prepares operational reports monthly as well as ad hoc reports when required
- Prepares monthly ledger reconciliations between Age and GRIR subledger accounts with detailed commentary and instruction and guidance to resolve reconciling differences.

Leadership experience in a Shared Service environment
Experience in Sharepoint document management
3 to 5 years experience as Accounts Payable Team Lead or Supervisor leading a team larger than 10 people ,
Strong Excel skills
