About You

Location: London-based, Cape-Town Based or Lagos Based

Duties and responsibilities
- Liaise with the Brand Partnerships Director and Consultants to provide feedback on issues and developments.
- Great understanding and existing background in selling digital displays to clients direct and media agencies
- Identify opportunities with new and existing clients and proactively drive revenue for the group.
- Respond to client briefs, draft proposals and deliver pitches as required.
- Represent AMAKA at trade shows and events, promoting our portfolio to generate sales across print, digital and multiplatform creative projects.
- Stay apprised of competitor developments to make insightful recommendations for AMAKA growth.
- Execute excellent account management to ensure clients are managed successfully, as well as identify new business and have daily interactions with key influencers
- Regularly visiting customers and achieving annual strategic sales targets
- Liaising with colleagues across departments to ensure support for and success of client campaigns.
- Generating new business; cold calling by telephone, confirming in-person/virtual meetings where relevant.
- Identifying opportunities, building rapport, and effectively presenting key benefits and value of our services to secure new business.
- Speak to a variety of different people with varying personalities every day and work to achieve a balance of quality and quantity with the opportunities identified.
- Develop and establish new customer relationships.
- Maximise service and sales profitability by recommending, upselling and cross-selling products and services
- Price, prepare and follow up quotations to generate new business.
- Achieve sales targets, KPI’s and objectives set by managers.
- Accurately gather and record activity information in provided google docs and preset weekly meetings.
- Build strong collaborative relationships internally to deliver consultative advertising and content solutions to our clients.
- Participate fully in delivering on required internal reporting, meetings and team procedures completing administrative, financial and client relationship management
- Execute tasks promptly with excellent attention to detail and an eye on the big picture
- Maintain commercial awareness through market intelligence and keeping up to date with developments, innovations and industry or sector trends
- Maintain awareness of competitor activities and projects innovations considering implications for AMAKA and our clients
- Achieving sales targets

Desired experience & requirements:

- At least 5-6 years of Proven experience at a similar level working in an agency, publisher or media sales is essential.
- Excellent track record in consistently meeting targets and driving revenue growth.
- Experience of digital sales and multiplatform sales is essential.
- A digital native with a working understanding of the digital/social advertising landscape & technical requirements is highly desirable.
- Demonstrates an informed understanding of the key USP's of digital and mobile platforms.
- Understands campaign management and performance and takes a proactive approach to manage digital campaigns to encourage repeat business.
- Culturally curious, business-minded and engaging personality.
- You are results-focused and a team player.
- Being fluent in French is a plus.

Key Requirements:

- You should be a confident, outgoing person with the desire to succeed.
- Experienced in Business-to-Business sales and able to identify opportunities and effectively present the key benefits and value proposition on how to solve customers' pain points.
- You need mental resilience to be able to move from call to call, keeping the same positive approach on the last call as you did the first.
- You need to be money motivated; we are looking for people eager to earn more money through our competitive commission structure.
- Be excited to work with the only publisher that connects a community of women from Africa and across the diaspora.
- Have a black book of key contacts to facilitate sales introductions
- An interest in African culture and Pan-African community building
- Excellent telephone communication skills with a persuasive approach and confidence to overcome and handle objections
- Be able to present well and confidently
- Having a proven track record of hitting sales targets on KPIs in key African regions is a plu
