**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
- To contribute to achieving the purpose of the team of ensuring the company’s cash flow is maximized through efficient and effective debt collection
- prepare to bill for key accounts accurately, send invoices for approval and send invoices and statements to clients.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of effective debt collection process and procedures, through contributing knowledge, identified risks, and insights to team lead and the business
**EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
- Any relevant credit control or bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Certificate in Credit and Risk management advantageous

**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Intermediate excel skills i.e. Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Sumifs
**ROLE DESCRIPTION**
- Performs effective debt collection by following the **debt collection processes** as relevant to dedicated business being served
- Provides direct support to the Team leader in ensuring that the monthly
- billing run process runs smoothly and all necessary procedures have been
- performed within specified timeframes through tasks allocated
- Ensures that all invoices, statements and credit notes are sent to
- client timeously
- Maintaining the debtors age analysis to the metrics set each quarter
- Suspending and unsuspending clients within framework of policy
- Following up on returned and rejected **debit orders**:
- Monthly reporting within specified timeframes of debtor’s book statistics and
- metrics as required by the FM for the both businesses and the
- group
- When necessary, assists in capturing cashbook receipts, unpaids,
- correcting funds misallocated on accounts
- **Reconciling** client accounts as necessary
- **Capturing new** contracts received
- Updating client details on finance systems (example bank details, vat and registration numbers)
- Sending Letter of demands
- Sending Accountability letters - Form A, Form B and Form C
- Preparing file for **manual debit orders**:
- Preparing file for **refunds** with supporting paperwork
- **Sending** invoices, credit notes and statements when required
- Creditors reconciliations referring to debtors
- Ad-hoc invoicing and credit notes
- **Passing journals** for bad debt recovered and small amounts
- Loading **unpaid cases** onto Salesforce (SS)
- Providing reasons for possible bad debt
- Assisting with **handing over long overdue** accounts to 3rd party - maintain schedule by adding and deleting cases, liaise with 3rd party as required
- Preparing **SMS’s to be sent to unpaid** clients by adding cell numbers and manipulating the file into the correct format and sending the SMS’s via SMS Portal
- **Bureaus spreadsheets** for month end billing
- **Bank statements**, check daily add debtor’s codes for ease of capturing
- Cancellations
- **Reporting on** suspended clients with comments
- Monthly reporting on reasons for credit notes passed (Month end Reporting)
- Capturing and maintaining up to date and accurate banking details in an excel spreadsheet
- Ad-hoc invoicing and credit notes for terminals
- Filing of relevant documentation as required by Team leader
- Any ad hoc tasks allocated by Team Lead
