We have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Creative Lead to manage the new studio of an in-house brand at a leading South African retailer in Cape Town. We’re looking for a true “Creative” ideally from an Art Direction/Design background (but they may consider a Copywriter), who is fully integrated through-the-line and boasts solid experience in the Retail space.

This fabulous role will see you responsible for translating marketing and branding strategies into innovative and exciting campaigns that stimulate the targeted audiences by working across disciplines to create conceptual, integrated solutions to work.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the creative studio team and provide strategic input into briefs and brand strategies
- Work to develop an overall concept that communicates to a target audience within the scope of the brand and creative brief supplied
- Conceptualise ideas and designs, formulating artwork and storyboards based on the client’s specifications
- Develop top quality TTL advertising and promotional campaigns within the parameters of the client brief
- Craft concepts into original, relevant, and impactful communications; follow through to the completion of the job whilst maintaining explicit attention to detail and adhering to project timelines
- Produce and craft original and usable concepts and copy in response to creative briefs
- Present work in a clear and professional manner
- Work with Marketing teams to understand the brand and manage projects in a way that will support the delivery of the brand
- Manage and take ownership of projects from origination to completion
- Develop skills and knowledge within yourself through on-the-job development, and active participation
- Actively support and involve team members at the appropriate time to resolve issues
- Encourage all members to look for collaborative ways to make the company a great place to work.

**Requirements**:

- Visual Communications Degree or Diploma in Art Direction (Or a Degree in Communication/Design/Fine Art etc. that shows competent visual skills)
- Minimum of 8+ years’ work experience, ideally at a reputable mainstream Advertising Agency
- A strong Advertising portfolio
- Integrated experience (ATL, BTL, Digital) - essential
- MS Word, MS PowerPoint or Keynote, MS Outlook
- Excellent computer skills
- A passion for concepts and art direction
- Strong conceptual ability and solid design/writing skills with a portfolio that demonstrates strong ATL, BTL & Digital
- Adept at brainstorming relevant, innovative ideas
- Proactive and results driven with a sense of urgency
- Attention to detail
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
- Integrity, energy, and creativity
- Confident communication skills
- Manage multiple priorities with competing demands
- Ability to explain the scope of work and delegate as needed
- Strong and respected leadership
- Able to work with and lead a team.
