**Description**:
The Head of Trend and Design is responsible for leading our trend and fashion design strategy and ensuring that successful execution results in commercial success.

**Reports to**:
CEO

**The Role**:

- Leading a confident, effective and happy team who deliver passionately against a clear and focused strategy.
- Closely collaborate with the Retail Buying and Planning Heads across all genders and age groups to deliver and drive the product strategy to all teams including Retail & Production and Marketing/Editorial teams.
- Constantly review and interrogate strategy to ensure alignment with sales, customer insights, and forward trends, developing new brand strategies and identities when required.
- Embrace the power of data, and think innovatively about how to incorporate into the design process providing insights to the whole business to help guide category assortments and strategic lines at all tiers.
- Drive a strong design identity across all Private Labels
- Oversee and guide upfront seasonal trend direction and retail updates for Womenswear, Menswear, Footwear & Accessories and Kidswear.
- Sign-off on designs in collaboration with Head of Buying according to the trending colours, fabrics, key items, key looks, details and pattern in line with our specific customer profiles to ensure fashion authority.
- Use post seasonal analysis and current trade feedback to influence and challenge the Buying team to ensure we build a strong and balanced range
- Collaborate with the Head of Vertical Production to drive quick response to good sellers and new trends
- Own all aspects of the visual identity of the Private Label brands including product, branding, fit & catalogue imagery
- Closely collaborate with the Production team on catalogue styling, approving seasonal style guides and giving constant feedback.
- Ensure our organisation is updated and informed regarding seasonal directions, beliefs and products, doing this continuously throughout the season.
- Actively collaborate with Give input to the Marketing and Editorial team to achieve the best outcome for seasonal campaigns and for the Private brands.
- Partner with Marketing in executing our Conscious & collaborations strategies.

**Key Requirements**:

- Degree or Diploma in fashion design
- A love of urban fashion.
- Knowledge and understanding of têxtiles, and print styles and techniques.
- 10 years+ work experience within trend and design.
- Strong retail background.
- Strong eye and visual literacy
- Experience working with manufacturers.
- Ability to be highly organised with great prioritisation skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor
- Experience working in Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Advanced MS office.
