**Background**:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The purpose of this assignment is to coordination support to the Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Portfolio which includes coordinating relationships with national partners and stakeholders, and the monitoring and reporting, knowledge management and communications efforts, as well as results-based monitoring and reporting, and financial management.
Reporting to the Programme Specialist WEE, Coordination Analyst will provide support to the Country Representative in strategic programme planning, inter-agency coordination, resource mobilization and partnership building, as well as advocacy and communication.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Provide support to the Country Representative in strategic coordination for SAMCO**:
- Provide substantive inputs on the formulation of concept notes for UN Women's intervention areas; as well as the office’s strategic note;
- Provide inputs to the development of country programming processes and products, including the including the annual workplan, strategic note, and programme/ project documents, the preparation of United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) and other UN system joint programming documents;
- Follow up on required action/outstanding issues and report on outcome/ result. Alert the SAMCO Country Representative on critical issues to be addressed:
- Coordination, secretariat and administrative support to the multi-stakeholders of the WEE Programme/Portfolios;
- Guide and support programmatic integration of UN agencies working towards Women’s Economic Empowerment programme objectives;
- Guide and support coordination with national partners, UN agencies in the gender results group for the objectives of the Women’s Economic Empowerment programme;
- Integration of the relevant outputs of the WEE into the District Development Model work plans in the pilot districts;
- Support coordination and organization WEE work with Government, Private Sector and Women Business Associations;
- Preparation of summary and background materials for the working group;
- Monitoring of implementation progress of the WEE Programme/Portfolios activities;
- Preparation of substantive inputs or specific deliverables/products of the WEE Programme and Presidential Task Team meetings.
**Provide technical support to the Country Representative and SAMCO on inter-agency coordination**:
- Provide technical support to joint inter-agency UN planning processes and similar exercises;
- Prepare briefing materials for SAMCO on issues to be discussed in the UN and other events and meetings;
- Prepare background materials and analysis for the Resident Coordinator (RC) and the UN Country Team (UNCT) on the gender dynamics and opportunities to support inclusive engagement of women in the development assistance provided by the UNCT;
- Provide technical support to UNCT in monitoring and reporting and prepare analytical and regular progress reports on UN Women’s programme experiences, as necessary.
**Provide technical support to the development of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization efforts**:
- Provide support in managing activities and other promotional events to engage bilateral and multilateral institutions/ donors, private sector and civil society to expand and/or sustain interest and resources for UN Women programmes and joint UN system programmes;
- Prepare background documents and analysis for the Country Representative to forge and implement strategic partnerships to increase outreach on UN Women’s work in country;
- Provide support to development partners and national counterparts on implementation of key UN frameworks and conventions on gender equality;
- Provide network and capacity development to partner Civil Society Organizations and other stakeholders, as necessary.
**Provide advocacy and communication support to the SAMCO**:
- Update the SAMCO’s Annual Communication Strategy, develop content and ensure proper management/ monitoring of the SAMCO’s website and social media channels;
- Coordinate and implement advocacy campaigns on issues related to Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE), with a specific focus on International Women’s Day, the HeForShe Campaign and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence;
