**Main purpose of position**
Currently we are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - Improving our future. As our Senior BD Manager, you will be responsible for implementing Scatec’s Business Development strategy in Sub-Sahara Africa. This includes but is not limited to finalizing the strategy, establishing organization and processes, identifying, and securing business opportunities and developing projects through to financial close and start of construction. This role will lead the regional effort to position Scatec as a leading PV and wind player in emerging markets in close collaboration.

**Main responsibilities**
- Support the preparation of strategic development plans and budgets for the region.
- Identify, drive value-creating opportunities and develop competitive propositions.
- Develop relationships with authorities, regulators, utilities, corporations, developers, brokers, banks.
- Coordinate the screening of opportunities, build business case for internal decision-making approvals.
- Drive the negotiations of partnerships, project development and acquisition agreements
- Lead the acquisition and the closing of transactions.
- Manage the development teams securing project permits, licences, and agreements such as land, interconnection, ESIA, off-take.
- Ensure compliance with Scatec’s code of conduct, operating system procedures and budgets
- Develop talents

**Qualifications and competencies**
- Education: Master’s Degree in Commerce, Engineering or Law
- Experience: minimum 7 years experience in Project/Business development roles in the renewable energy industry
- Experience in leading the closing of complex project transactions, such as Financial Closing, M&A. Leadership positions
- Language: Fluent both written and spoken in English and French, Portuguese, Spanish, Afrikaans advantageous
