Legal/contract Manager

Assist the Group Legal Head in the effective functioning of the legal department.
- Implement and manage the entire contract management process, including drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts.
- Ensure strict compliance with the contract management policy and Supply Chain Management (SCM) policies.
- Maintain a comprehensive contract register, including tracking key contract milestones, renewals, and terminations.
- Educate and provide guidance to all departments on the contract management process, ensuring their understanding and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Assist with litigation matters, including gathering relevant information, liaising with external legal practitioners, and preparing necessary documentation.
- Draft and vet agreements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Update and maintain internal standard agreements, keeping them current and aligned with legal and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide legal guidance and support in contract-related matters.
- Stay informed about relevant legal developments, industry practices, and changes in legislation that may impact the company's contractual obligations.
- Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions as needed to support decision-making processes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all aspects of the company's operations, particularly related to contract management.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
- Admitted attorney in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, legal principles, and procedures.
- Knowledge of financial services and banking regulatory framework.
- Knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
- Proven experience in managing and overseeing contract management processes.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and databases.
**Experience**:
Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a legal role, preferably with a focus on commercial drafting and litigation
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Unquestioned integrity and honesty, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse personalities and business units.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in contract drafting and review.
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
