The Junior Bookkeeper will have expertise and technical knowledge of all areas impacting accounting. Must be excellent with numbers and spread sheets, self-motivated, strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask, as well as assist with the accountants’ preparation of month-end closing and compilation of financial information and analyses. The Junior Bookkeeper will be expected to work effectively and diligently cross functionally to ensure the achievement of the Company’s objectives in a resourceful and effective way.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Processing of transactions from invoice to accounting system
- Processing of debtors, creditors and general journal entries
- Full cycle opex and capex accounts payable duties
- Assisting with the compilation of monthly management reports and any other reports as required
- Preparation of financial period closure
- Accounts receivable management
- Vendor account management
- Bank reconciliation of various bank accounts
- Maintenance of group fixed asset registers
- Interrogating GL account discrepancies
- Ensuring accounting transactions are in line with legal and company accounting/financial guidelines
- Ensure accuracy of GL and branch coding for all capturing purposes
- Professional and prompt communication to management
- Attend to any queries in a timeously and professional manner
- Proactive - ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Diploma/Degree in a finance related field preferred
- At least 2-3 years’ work experience in a finance team
- Honest and hardworking nature
- Energetic and loyal team player
- Innovative and critical thinking
- Deadline driven
- Based in Stellenbosch
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
- Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly spread sheets
- Proficient in Xero an advantage

Salary will be commensurate with experience

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Stellenbosch, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
