At Biocair our Logistics Coordinator’s sit at the heart of our operations working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with customer care being at the centre of all they do. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the key driver for this role is to deliver the highest quality service in our industry by ensuring all shipments are managed in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective way.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Acting as the first point of contact for all shipping orders and enquiries, managing the end-to-end shipment process for research samples, clinical trials medicines and others pharmaceutical and healthcare related products, on a worldwide basis whilst ensuring that customer interactions always handled in a pro-active and professional manner.
- Assisting in the delivery of effective cold chain solutions based on each individual customers specific needs as well as proactively managing costs at all times.
- Developing and maintaining a close relationship with existing and potential clients by understanding needs, providing high levels of accurate and timely communication, ensuring complete satisfaction with the service provided and identifying service level improvements.
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm documentation requirements, plan appropriate route solutions and obtain timely updates on live shipments all the while developing a thorough knowledge of the Biocair supplier network and supplier capabilities to effectively plan routes that meet customer requirements.
- Ensuring all Dangerous Goods shipments are correctly classified, have the correct documentation and that the route solution is appropriately designed.
- Handling customer complaints promptly and effectively from receipt to resolution, escalating issues and seeking support from others where required as well as take ownership of investigations, root cause analysis and put in place Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA’s) providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensuring that Biocair and customer systems (where required) are kept up to date with accurate and detailed information for each shipment and ensure that the department always operates compliantly and within the law
- Building positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and work pro-actively with other teams in South Africa and all Biocair’s global locations to deliver excellent customer service.

**In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies**:

- Experience of working within a cold chain or time sensitive multimodal freight forwarding or pharmaceutical industry (ideally in a logistics setting).
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Resilience, the ability to show initiative, work on your own without supervision when required and be a true team player.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong self-organisation skills and the ability to plan and prioritise your workload whilst managing changing priorities to meet strict deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and a commitment to see issues through to resolution.
- Driver’s license Code 8.
- Knowledge of reusable temperature-controlled packaging.
- Import / Export / Customs knowledge and/or a valid IATA Dangerous Goods qualification is desirable.

**Please note that this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 based out of our Johannesburg office (Kempton Park 1619). Weekend shifts may we required when necessary.**
