**_ Position Purpose:_**

To ensure that IT is a strategic enabler of business by delivering quantifiable business value on its investments which

involves evaluating, directing, and monitoring the usage of IT It involves ensuring that the planning, design, development,

strategic objectives.

**_ Position outputs:_**
- Establish and develop appropriate policies, procedures, and practises in relation to governance and planning functions.
- Ensure and monitor the effective implementation of policies, procedures, and governance frameworks by aligning to

industrial best practise and regularly evaluated for improvement
- Ensure that the ICT strategy and roadmap plans are realised, and that the ICT purpose is fulfilled through its service

delivery and project initiatives and in line with the overall TPT strategy and goals.
- Work with the EA and strategy team to constantly evaluate the business environment to best understand the changes

impacting the organisation and how ICT can address the impact to minimise risk and ensure maximum benefit.
- Ensure proper implementation of major architectural and design changes to the ICT landscape, including its systems and

processes.
- Establish a system to measure ICT solutions and service delivery to monitor ICT’s contribution to the business in line with

TPT’s performance management system.
- Monitor ICT performance against its SLA with business and agreed KPI’s for service delivery and service improvements
- Periodically review performance, analyse causes of deviations and initiate remedial action.
- Establish a culture of sound governance amongst employees within the organisation, in the execution of the ICT function,

by planning and executing training and awareness of ICT governance requirements and constantly evaluating and improving

the culture of governance.
- Ensure that there are codes of ethical practise and conduct for staff to align in the execution of their functions
- Monitor and report on the ICT capital investment and expenditure

Conduct project governance oversight and stage gate reviews for strategic ICT projects and ensuring that projects are within

scope, time and budgets.
- Ensure quality of project execution and deliverables in accordance with the appropriate project structure and methodology.
- Ensure that the desired benefit outcomes are measurable, timeous and realisable, while minimising the risk of ICT projects

and investments.
- Oversee that the various stakeholder functions are effectively executed, and organisational change management function is

carried through.
- Manage the IT audit function by liaising with internal and external audit.
- Manage the Information Technology service Continuity Plans in accordance with the business continuity requirements.
- Design and implement processes for sound data and information management across the ICT function and between

Transnet, TPT and the regional terminals to ensure single and unified version of truth as well as timeous delivery of

up-to-date information.
- Work with Information Security teams to ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity as well as security of data.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**
- Related B-degree or B. Tech National/Advanced Diploma (NQF 6/7) in Computer Sciences/ Information

Technology/Systems OR Commerce
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in any of the following ICT disciplines in a large enterprise including but not limited

to:

- IT Risk Management,
- IT Audit,
- IT Compliance,
- IT Governance
- Further qualifications preferred:

- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
- Minimum 1 year in a supervisory level or specialist position
- Further professional memberships preferred:

- Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)
- Transnet leadership Development Programme (advantage)
