BASIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENT : Matric or equivalent

TERTIARY QULAIFICATION : Advantageous - 3-year Logistics, Engineering or Supply Chain Management degree, or 3-year equivalent diploma.

COMPUTER LITERACY LEVEL : MS Suite - Intermediate

ADDITIONAL COMPUTER SKILLS:
Intermediate knowledge of ERP and WMS systems
- Basic knowledge of Inventory Management software / apps
- Proficient in Excel/PowerPoint for data management and reporting
- Cargowrite Basic Plus within 9 months of assuming role

JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

- Min 3 years’ relevant experience in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of Inbound, Outbound, Cycle-counting and Return processes and workflows
- Knowledge and experience in root cause analysis and problem solving, including investigating and troubleshooting of stock discrepancies, incident reporting and CAPA reporting.
- Experience in cycle counting programs and wall to wall stock takes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and high quality of work.
- Must be able to ensure compliance to Work Instructions and meeting of Inventory related SLA’s.
- A good understanding of the importance of stock controls.
- Manage FIFO / LIFO, Batch and expiry date controls and understand the Risks involved if these controls are maintained
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work extended hours / after hours
- Ability to support other sites within South Africa when required e.g. wall to wall count support
- Audit support relating to internal and client inventory audits.
- Own reliable transport to and from work;
- Ability to work under pressure and fulfilling demanding client expectations;

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Responsible for the inventory control of daily / weekly / monthly inventory deliverables within a multi-client distribution centre, in order to consistently meet or exceed inventory related SLA’s with clients. Lead uplift and motivate, team mates to acheive a common goal.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commercial and Client Focus:

- Understanding of contractual SLAs & KPIs
- Adherence to tasks not stipulated in job profile i.e. audit compliance, adhoc duties due to operational requirements.
- Maintain and distribute various reports in line with KPI and contractual obligations.
- Control, action, investigate and complete CAPA document’s if need be, this includes but is not limited to short picks, nil picks, damages, error percentages, KPI requirements, etc.
- Complete daily system checks to ensure all data to and from the client system is working;
- Customer inventory related queries: Ensure these are processed accurately and completely within 24 hours;
Inventory Management:

- Monitor and correct the inadequate or inappropriate inventory, to meet the demands of sales e.g. stock shortage.
- Action the high inventory levels e.g. FIFO, Obsolete and Slow-moving stock, on client request.
- Daily system to system balancing: Report on and support daily alignment of DSV and client systems
- Control the security over inventory which could result in loss, theft or misappropriation, etc.
- Execute cycle counts, support wall to wall counts, ABC analysis counting and various other processes in line with the KPI and contractual obligations.
- Support maintenance of Material Master and Bin Master, including performing required updates as required.
- Control, quarantined and damaged stock, this includes inspections, scrapping processes, etc.
- Ensure inventory processes are followed in operations and admin
- Ensure Returns are processed quickly and accurately
- Ensure virtual locations (such as Suspense) within WMS never age more than 5 days and are accurately processed;
- Ensure CAPA is actioned on all serious and/or recurring inventory issues / queries.
- Conduct root cause analysis on reoccurring Invetnory related issues, closing the gap through CIP implementation initiatives
- Endeavour and Explore new CIP opportunities within the Operation, from Inbound to Outbound to make the system or process more efficient. Come up with innovative ideas to improve the current state of work.
