Procurement Clerk

M3e Engineering is seeking a dedicated, industrious, and driven Procurement Buyer to join our Procurement Department. This role involves close collaboration with the factory/project managers and offers a dynamic environment for professional growth.
**Responsibilities**:
- Initiate and conduct meetings with suppliers to negotiate rates and pricing.
- Foster and maintain relationships with existing suppliers while actively seeking new ones.
- Regularly review supplier rates, conduct market research for optimal pricing (benchmarking).
- Assist the procurement department in updating pricing for stock items.
- Provide support and guidance to management and staff regarding procurement matters.
- Ensure procurement activities contribute to the company's profitability by acquiring materials and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner without compromising quality.
- Offer insights on areas for cost-saving and execute strategies accordingly.
- Ensure all purchases align with the budget and comply with approval processes.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and processing of purchase orders.
- Generate purchase orders when necessary and ensure executive approval for all procurement activities.
- Enforce adherence to strict procurement processes and procedures within the company's policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify their material requirements.
- Manage general office administration tasks and generate/maintain reports.
- Initiate and conduct meetings with management regularly to update them on changes in suppliers and/or pricing which will have an effect on quotes sent out as well as production
Qualifying Criteria:
- Five to seven years of prior experience in a procurement environment.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, motivation, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated negotiation and networking abilities.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Team-oriented with the capacity to work independently.
- At least 2 contactable references of people whom you have reported to in previous positions
