**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

This position serves as a management and leadership role as well as an execution role. The incumbent will perform a defined range of duties and is expected to directly manage Finished Goods Warehouse, WIP Takeoff, WIP Feeding, Strapping Line operation, Sheetline operation, and FG Takeoff activities across multiple job grades and skill levels within the plant and other sites.

**REPORTING TO: Distribution Manager**

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**

Ø Ensure the capability of all processes within the Finished Goods Warehouse Business Unit to meet the business plan

Ø Ensure the availability of WIP to the production unit timeously, in full and within their qty specifications

Ø Maintain a high level of WIP stock accuracy. And reduce/manage bad WIP stocks at the lowest waste loss

Ø To maintain a high level of Finished Good accuracy (quantity, location)

Ø Manage team performance at shift basis

Ø Plan and execute monthly stock counts for all WIP board.

Ø Ensure mass balance from Corrugator to WIP, Sheet sales and waste is correct.

Ø Understand and explain mass and value variance on material usage requirement for all controlled materials (WIP, Sheetboard, FG)

Ø Mitigate mass and value variance on material usage requirement for all controlled materials (WIP, Sheetboard, FG)

Ø Ensure housekeeping standards and cleaning schedules are maintained and audited.

Ø Manage material handling equipment in alignment with the Group asset care philosophy.

Ø To manage casual staff during peak periods to assist with housekeeping, sorting, and cleaning.

Ø Manage material handling driver behaviour through an understanding of daily and weekly reporting (idle time, vacant seat, productivity, hours vs maintenance plan, best/worst driver awards).

**KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS**

Ø Code B driver’s license.

Ø Good computer skills (Excel)

Ø Extreme attention to detail and process

Ø Disciplinary and labour law procedure

Ø Shopfloor IR

Ø Problem Solving Techniques (5Why, DMAIC, Fishbone, Pareto etc)

Ø Process auditing

**REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE**

Ø Matric with Mathematics

Ø Supply Chain related or technical tertiary qualification is advantageous

Ø 3+ years of high-velocity warehousing and logistics experience within the manufacturing sector

Ø ERP system change and functionality experience

Ø Cycle count process experience

Ø Budget, cost control and reporting against such

Ø 4+ years in management or supervisory role requiring shopfloor IR interaction

Ø Problem Solving

Ø ISO 9001, ISO22000

Ø FSC & FSSC.
