IT Technician

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide support and maintenance of the local area network, wide area network, wireless network, servers, computers, Microsoft 365, ERP and MES systems as well as all other IT related peripherals within the Business Unit and the resolution of all IT faults logged with the helpdesk. Manage IT projects and engage with the lead team by providing comprehensive and timeously updates. Assist Group IT Head in the implementation of the IT strategy.

REPORTING TO: GROUP IT HEAD

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Timeous resolution of all IT related faults logged at the Helpdesk.
- Investigate, analyse and provide solutions to faults logged on helpdesk.
- Service and maintenance of all computers (production and office) at the Business Unit.
- Maintenance of network devices (computers, scanners, printers, cabling and other peripherals).
- Update the intranet and allocate the correct level of access to users on file server and ERP and MES system servers.
- Maintain and update Active Directory accordingly with users that are in service and out of service with the company
- 1st Tier and 2nd Tier maintenance of all servers (CPU, RAM, Disk Space usage and consumption)
- Server room checks (air-cons, servers, routers, switches etc)
- Daily plant inspection on all IT Infrastructure.
- Implementation of Anti-virus software and other packages as required.
- Ensure computers and servers are patched with latest software patches to reduce vulnerabilities.
- Maintain and update IT support documentation.
- Perform standby for all IT related faults after normal business hours with occasional travelling.
- Responsible for IT equipment register.
- Perform all tasks reasonably requested by the Group IT Head
- Project management of IT projects
- Maintenance of PBX.
- Maintenance of CCTV systems
- Enforce IT governance.
- Support of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint

- Knowledge of active directory, WSUS, VMWare, Veeam and Sentinel 1.
- Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 and 2019
- Microsoft 365 suite

REQUIRED MINIMUM AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Information Technology.
- Minimum 6 years working experience within the IT environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
- Required to work overtime and do standby.
- Project management.
