Bookkeeper and Procurement

We are looking for a talented person for Bookkeeping and Procurement to join our team. As the company bookkeeper you will oversee the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. You will perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments. Additionally, assist with basic HR duties like new hire documents, compliance, and temporary disability insurance and workers’ compensation filings.
Bookkeeping and Procurement Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors
- Track inventory and restock goods when needed
- Stay up to date on industry trends and new products
- Compare available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricing
**Requirements and skills**
- Tertiary education in accounting, finance, or related field
- Previous bookkeeping experience required
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
- Proficiency in English
- Communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build rapport
- Time management and planning skills
**Job Type**: Contract
**Salary**: R10,000.00 per month
