**HSE Manager**:

- REQUISITION ID: 7842- LOCATION: Cape Town, ZA, 8001- DEPARTMENT: HSEQ**Purpose of Role**

Guide and support HSE Technicians to report indicators - HSE KPIs. Support the local administrations of the Integrated Management Systems 14001 (Environment) and 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).

**Key Responsibilities [Key Performance Areas]**
- Acting providing technical support to other local teams through training, technical visits and best HSE practices in order to achieve the results expected and defined by NORDEX
- Supervision and control of compliance with local HSE and NORDEX standards by contractors and subcontractors, the safety plan and the correct use of safety means at the disposal of subcontractors (PPE, equipment, tools, etc.), through the realization of audits, according to the defined periodicity.
- Support and work directly with the HSE Country Manager, the Corporate Operations HSE representative and the global Operations HSE members in all projects for the implementation of new wind farms.
- Ensure compliance with Nordex's internal Safety and Environment standards and the local regulations applicable in the country where the construction activities are being carried out, working together with the customer’s HSE teams and the subcontractors HSE Teams involving the leaders project locations
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, Customer and Nordex requirements
- Attend all periodical project meetings required
- Coordinate, elaborate and guide safety activities on the site and in the projects, in order to comply with the legal HSE safety and environmental standards required in the country (legal legislation) of the project.
- Support the interface with local government agencies at the federal, state and municipal levels and NORDEX group audits related to the project in progress.
- Participation in work meetings to discuss issues related of accident prevention, when requested by the Site Manager.
- Evaluate and request, in some cases, resources and support for carrying out training and qualification for your local HSE team, analysing the need for external training, thus guaranteeing full training of the team to perform their activities on the project.
- Lead and coordinate HSE team project (People Management).
- Carry out the local management HSE results for the project regarding health, safety, environment issues, keeping communication and frequent reporting to the HSE Country Manager.
- Provide support and encourage the creation and implementation of environmental and safety improvement projects with process optimization and cost reduction;
- Establish and maintain site emergency response team, well trained.
- Ensure follow up to Nordex sustainability requirements and keep monitoring and reporting.
- Lead / Guidance the local HSE teams of Nordex, customers and subcontractors during the investigation of accidents and High Potential (HIPO) incidents that may occur.
- Participation to the Plan of Day with Operational team to review the task of the day and related risks having all risks identified and tackle.
- Ensure worker’s welfare is maintained.
- Maintain all HSE related record and files associated with the projects.
- Detection of new situations of potential risk, and together with the Site Manager, take the appropriate measures to minimize them and, if possible, continue the construction activities.

- Prepare and distributed HSE statistics and injury rates for evaluation.
- Identify and report on a daily basis unsafe situations and unsafe acts and Take immediate actions.
- Assist in the performance of risk assessment.
- Responsible for local support to Safety Technicians in the elaboration of safety reports informative and sending the HSE Key Performance indicators (KPIs) to HSE Country Manager within the required deadlines.
- Ensuring full local support necessary to obtain and maintain licenses, operating permits and necessary permissions, ensuring that the laws are fully met by monitoring and complying with the conditions imposed by the local government for the performance of NORDEX project activities.
- Lead the meetings and discussions related to the Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001) and the Environment (ISO 14001). Support in the execution of internal audits (corporative, normative and certification), external audits of 2nd part (customers auditing NORDEX) and 3rd part (re-certification carried out with independent consultants)
