A leading organisation is looking for an experienced HSE Officer to provide expert support and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on implementing best practices and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and review HSE management systems, ensuring all legal and functional appointment letters are documented
- Conduct audits, inspections, and site visits to assess compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Ensure all incidents and near-misses are reported, investigated, and corrective actions are implemented
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for fibre-related construction projects, ensuring waste management compliance and sustainability initiatives
- Deliver HSE training sessions, ensuring all employees and contractors are well-equipped with essential safety knowledge
- Support emergency response planning, conduct drills, and liaise with security providers for swift incident management
- Promote workplace wellness programs and employee assistance initiatives
- Diploma in Health & Safety Management or NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate)
- National Certificate in Environmental Management
- SAMTRAC, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and Fall Protection Planner qualification
- ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Implementation/Internal Auditor qualification
- 5-7 years of experience as a General HSE Officer, with at least 3-5 years in construction or telecommunications
- Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
