**Role Purpose**

The purpose of the Senior Oversight and Governance Specialist role is to work with the HO Solutions team to define the necessary People governance frameworks, policies, procedures, processes and tools and ensure all the requirements are in place across the People value chain and function in alignment with organisational and legislative policies and/or frameworks and/or processes.
**Role Description**

Employee Centric Delivery
- Ensuring all HR governance frameworks, policies, procedures and processes are defined and aligned to local legislation and leading practice and are implemented on an ongoing basis in conjunction with the HO Solutions team.
- Driving the continuous review of the Code of Conduct for People to ensure alignment to leading practice and local legislation.
- Coordinating the ongoing maintenance of People policies and procedures.
- Maintaining a schedule of People policy reviews and submissions.
- Continuously working with HO Solutions and business to ensure accurate, timely, and adequate communication and dissemination of People policies, standards, and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
- Managing the procurement of services for People.
- Tracking priority and/or strategic People projects / programmes and reporting on progress.
- Developing and managing third-party risk and compliance management process for the People function.
- Ensuring third parties relationship management and the management of associated contract management processes.
- Driving the implementation of effective knowledge management processes within the People function.
- Working alongside the full People function to ensure adhoc reviews through the facilitation of communities of good practice, particularly in areas of non-compliance or high risk.

People (Self, Team & Organisational)
- Aligning participation to deliver relevant Oversight and Governance services to the business.
- Participating in the enablement of an innovative, agile and employee centric culture where employees are supported, empowered and valued within the Governance team.
- Participating in the enablement of an employee wellness culture within the Governance team to ensure that employees are supported mentally, physically and emotionally.
- Participating in the enablement of a culture of open and transparent communication within the Governance.

Financial, Reporting & BI
- Managing of oversight and governance costs whilst ensuring service delivery to the Group.
- Managing the collection and use of oversight and governance data and business intelligence to transform the delivery of oversight and governance services.

Governance & Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with organisational and legislative governance frameworks, legislation and standards.
- Adhering to governance structures, policies, processes, frameworks applicable to the role.
- Adhering to compliance and risk management standards.
- Ensuring adherence to the Anti-bribery and Corruption, Anti-terrorism, Gift, Conflict of Interest, POPI and the Enterprise risk management policies within the People function.
- Ensuring data management processes adhere to continually changing privacy and legal compliance requirements.

Future-Fit
- Participating in the integration and effective flow of work with other solution areas and business.
- Identifying relevant technology requirements for the Governance team and ensuring optimal utilisation thereof.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in governance, compliance and related processes to ensure ongoing process efficiency.
**Qualification and Experience**
- Degree in Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Audit or equivalent - (essential).
- +4 years in a Senior People Statutory & Compliance and/or Oversight & Governance capacity or equivalent role, delivering and advisory services in an HR/Finance environment within related governance/ statutory frameworks, policies, procedures and guidelines - (essential).
- Experience within the FMCG, retail sector or similar - (preferred).
- Demonstrable knowledge of HR orientated Statutory & Compliance and/or Oversight & Governance within the FMCG, retail sector, understanding of the challenges of HR Statutory & Compliance and/or Oversight and Governance in a Group, retail environment - (essential).
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, legislation and regulations - (essential).
