**Maintenance and Project Manager**

**Salary**: Market-Related.

**Work Type**: 6-month contract, to be made permanent.

**Overall Responsibility**:

- Management of all maintenance (routine, preventative, planned, and breakdowns), special projects, and plant improvements within the company by assessing and systematically planning scheduled maintenance and new projects while still handling the day-to-day.
- Duties Include:

- Maintenance of existing and new equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Ability to problem solve and come up with ways to increase capacity.
- Manage contracts with subcontractors by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
- Ensure efficient management, coordination, and record-keeping of all maintenance activities.
- Ensure all health and safety standards policies and standards are adhered to and updated when needed.
- Oversee budgeting, reporting, and planning within your department.
- Track project costs to meet the budget.
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Prepare cost justifications and project requests for improvement projects.
- Management of assets and planned preventative maintenance.
- Establish job priorities and time frames for scheduled maintenance.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Develop, analyze, and review a variety of complex operational reports to examine equipment usage, preventative maintenance, efficiency, quality, and other areas; implement operational changes as required.
- Ensure a safe working environment, striving for zero recordable injuries in compliance with internal policies and external legislation, by delivering key enabling activities.
- The provision of safety equipment, a safe working environment, and ensuring all employees/contractors are provided with and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Adherence to company standards, procedures, policies, and reporting requirements.
- Staff management and development through leadership, delegation, mentorship as well as training, scheduling, and a disciplined approach.
- Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Monthly reporting of project progress, breakdowns, equipment up and down time management and the success thereof, machinery status, etc.

- Key skills & experience:

- Certified tradesman.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience within the maintenance field.
- Minimum 5 years’ management experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience running projects.
- Experience running projects.
- Must have working experience as a Millwright/Fitter Turner/Boilermaker/Electrician.
- OHS Act and SHEQ knowledge.

**Advantageous**:

- NTC 5 or similar qualification
- Experience with Technical Drawings/Structural Designs/Design Knowledge.
