Electrician

The above vacancy exists at our On-sites Operations department, Vanderbijlpark, reporting to the Electrical

The Electrician will be responsible for carrying out day to day electrical maintenance on all electrical

equipment to ensure safe, reliable and cost effective maintenance and operation. Key areas of responsibility

for this role would include but are not limited to:
1. Ensure maximum utilization of Artisan and Artisan Assistant by reviewing maintenance priorities and

assigning tasks to maintenance personnel.

2. Participate in planning activities to ensure the proper manpower, materials and methods are employed to

effect minimum disruption to production.

3. Develop and document detailed procedures addressing all aspects of electrical equipment.

5. Provide technical support to the on sites project department.

6. Plan and control plant shutdowns by assessing long term requirements, drawing bar charts, organizing

and supervising plant and contract labor. Initiate requirements for consumable and equipment spares by

submitting stores requisition cards and requirements lists to the stores administrator.

**Essential Requirements**

1.Must have (N3) in Electrical Engineering;st have (N3) in Electrical Engineering;
2.Must be Electrician Red Seal Trade tested;st be Electrician Red Seal Trade tested;
3.Must be in possession of a Wiremans Licence;st be in possession of a Wiremans Licence;
4.A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in electrical HV maintenance in the gas or related industry;minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in electrical HV maintenance in the gas or related industry;
5.A minimum of 5 years’ experience on HV Synchronous motors and excitation systems;minimum of 5 years’ experience on HV Synchronous motors and excitation systems;
6.Knowledge of protection relays;owledge of protection relays;
7.Knowledge of predictive maintenance;owledge of predictive maintenance;
8.Must have good understanding of the electrical engineering standards;st have good understanding of the electrical engineering standards;

10.Computer literate and basic proficiency in MS Office suite with proven experience in Excel;
11.
Must have valid unendorsed Drivers license with own vehicle.
