**- To oversee warehouse, inventory control, material handling, customer service, transportation and**

**planning workers/labour.**

**- To organise the effective storage and distribution of all material by ensuring that the right products**

**are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost.**

**- Involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods.**

**1. WAREHOUSE AND LOGISTICS EFFICIENCY**
- ** Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, policies,**

**processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance;**
- ** Overseeing Warehouse maintenance and Scheduled Deliveries;**
- ** Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service**

**within budgetary requirements;**
- ** Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs;**
- ** Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost**

**optimisation opportunities;**
- ** Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of**

**direct reports (Warehouse Supervisor/s);**
- ** Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process;**
- ** Interpret trends and analyse and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in**

**the business to aid customer service and cost improvements.**

**2. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT**
- ** Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and**

**delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvement;**
- ** Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct**

**reports;**
- ** Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required;**

**3. FINANCIAL BUDGET AND CONTROL**
- ** Hold responsibility for department budget and ensure control on all expenses.**

**4. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT**
- ** Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process;**
- ** Ensure all completed orders are dispatched on time;**
- ** Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations, where applicable,**

**and legal and health & safety requirements.**

**5. HEALTH AND SAFETY**
- ** Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies;**
- ** Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and**

**environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and**

**visitors;**
- ** Ensure that the operation of the warehouse meets with the ISO requirements.**
- ** Staff files to be updated and assessed regularly.**

**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- ** A Formal qualification in Operations Management/Logistics**
- ** Experience in steel industry is of critical importance**
- ** Driver’s License**

- ** Good time management ability;**
- ** The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative**

**solutions;**

- ** Good computer literacy (MSOFFICE / SAGE system and/or other relevant IT system) and the**

**ability to handle electronic data;**
- ** Ability to manage change;**
- ** Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage**

**people;**
- ** Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;**
- ** Negotiation and analytical skills;**
- ** A positive attitude to continued learning.
