- To oversee warehouse, inventory control, material handling, customer service, transportation and

planning workers/labour.

- To organise the effective storage and distribution of all material by ensuring that the right products

are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost.

- Involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods.

1. WAREHOUSE AND LOGISTICS EFFICIENCY
-
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, policies,

processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance;
-
Overseeing Warehouse maintenance and Scheduled Deliveries;
-
Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service

within budgetary requirements;
-
Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs;
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost

optimisation opportunities;
-
Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of

direct reports (Warehouse Supervisor/s);
-
Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process;
-
Interpret trends and analyse and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in

the business to aid customer service and cost improvements.

2. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
-
Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and

delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvement;
-
Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct

reports;
-
Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required;

3. FINANCIAL BUDGET AND CONTROL
-
Hold responsibility for department budget and ensure control on all expenses.

4. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
-
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process;
-
Ensure all completed orders are dispatched on time;
-
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations, where applicable,

and legal and health & safety requirements.

5. HEALTH AND SAFETY
-
Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies;
-
Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and

environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and

visitors;
-
Ensure that the operation of the warehouse meets with the ISO requirements.
-
Staff files to be updated and assessed regularly.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
A Formal qualification in Operations Management/Logistics
-
Experience in steel industry is of critical importance
-
Driver's License
