**Principle Function**

Designing, developing and implementing optimal maintenance models, systems and procedures for implementation across the organisation ensuring a uniform approach to deliver consistently. To ensure the maintenance, servicing and roadworthiness (where applicable) of all equipment and maintaining the applicable service records and preventative maintenance schedule. Overall accountability for equipment availability.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Ensuring that all maintenance operations are done in accordance with company policy and OSHA guidelines.
- Ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment used and ensuring sufficient stocks of spares and materials in order to maintain vehicles, rigs and other equipment.
- Ensuring that stores carry sufficient stocks to minimize equipment downtime.
- Developing and implementing a proactive maintenance program and ensuring that the preventative maintenance program is adhered to.
- Drafting of Maintenance Reports for timeous and regular reporting on performance to Head Office.
- Oversee Preventative Maintenance models which ensure compliance and effectiveness, monitor trends and together with the relevant maintenance teams create and implement solutions as required.
- Ultimate accountability for the effective development, monitoring and completion of maintenance goals/action plans, both short and long term.
- Develop a maintenance budget for the operations which support the operations production targets and ensure maximum profit.
- Ensure that technical solutions make business sense and have long term sustainability, balancing technical solution and capital spend.
- Accountable for setting up the right processes to ensure that maintenance spend is effectively applied.
- Providing technical solutions which make business sense.
- Ensuring that refurbishments are done cost effectively and within the set turnaround times.
- Eliminate work-related injuries, damage to equipment and lost time as a result of inferior maintenance standards on machinery and equipment.
- Report all accidents and incidents, identify the causes and correct them or make recommendations.
- Together with the COO, determine the annual capex requirement for production plant replacements or new purchases.
- Assist with the preparation of various financial reports related to the procurement, mobilization and maintenance of capital assets.
- Determine maintenance budgets and risks in line with the Company’s requirements, policies, procedures and agreements.
- Provide prompt, thorough, timeous and accurate information to keep management appropriately informed of the financial position.
- Any other reasonable tasks that the incumbent may be required to do.

**Qualifications required**

Grade 12 or N3

Qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Code 10 driver’s license

10 years or more experience in a similar position

Well-developed computer skills to be able to implement and maintain effective processes and procedures.

Experience in mining and various Drill Rigs ADVANTEUGOUS

Previous experience in Fault finding and Cost Control

**Salary**: R40 000,00 - R55 000,00 per month

**Experience**:

- Heavy Equipment Mechanic: 10 years (preferred)
- Technical Management: 7 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- Valid Code 10 License (preferred)
- Trade Certificate as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (preferred)
