- Serves as a point of central coordination of functional development through research and best practice, whilst delivering the strategic initiatives working across the Discovery composite and supporting the day -to -day management of operational activities. Functions that make up the unit are Business Relationship Management, Customer Services, Digital Services, Finance and Billing Operations, Workflow Optimisation, OH Claims and Benefits, Claims Support Services, Managed Care, Disease Management and New Market Integration.**Key Purpose**:

- To ensure that all Functional Head streams operate in a consistent way in terms of processes and to drive the inhouse strategy and ensure the implementation thereof. The Functional Head acts as a link between Functional Streams, business and the systems area. Responsible for coordinating projects, within their functional area and managing these projects from inception to completion.**Key Outputs**:
**The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions**:

- To drive efficiency by developing plans in order to improve the CIB stream.
- To initiate and drive projects in their area from inception to completion in order to ensure that the Strategy is effectively and efficiently implemented.
- To control costs in their responsible areas and to ensure that resources are used optimally and that no wastage is incurred.
- To ensure that processes in their areas are aligned to objectives and that the functions can be audited and audit reports used in order to ensure efficiency and control within the function.
- To ensure that all changes to process flows and rules are acceptable and do not have an adverse effect on the functions managed as the Functional Head is seen as the Subject Matter Expert for the function managed.
- To contribute technically to projects to ensure that final delivery meets expectations of the client
- Sign-off and drive all marketing material that relates to Inhouse
- Long term forecasting to ensure that the function is optimally resourced in order to meet future operational requirements.
- To monitor performance within their function and ensure that trends are identified and corrective action is taken where necessary

**The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions**:

- To maintain and manage relationships between the fund management team and other business areas
