Medical Aid rate based on principal member only)- To be confirmed- Advert Closing Date- 24/2/2023- Job PurposeThe primary function of this position is to provide academic development support in the area of curriculum and learning and teaching in higher education. The incumbent will:

- Be responsible for supporting curriculum renewal and review across Faculties
- Promote and integrate graduate attributes into the curriculum and actively participate in the Curriculum Officers’ forum
- Work with academic staff across faculties to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with the strategic priorities of CPUT Vision 2030
- Participate in curriculum development and delivery of curriculum development programmes
- Collaborate with academic staff members in Fundani CHED on educational projects and initiatives aimed specifically at enhancing the quality of learning and teaching at the institution
- Conduct educational research relevant to the duties and responsibilities of this post and work collaboratively with other higher education institutions on curriculum renewal and development projects
- Perform academic, administrative functions to support the key functions of the curriculum development unit, e.g. recordkeeping, report writing, compiling of agendas and minutes of meetings, staff performance planning and review; and perform other duties as directed by the HoD of the Curriculum Development Unit
- Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- A relevant Master’s degree (e.g. MA in Education, M. Phil in Higher Education, or an equivalent)
- At least 2 years relevant experience in Higher Education, one of which must be in teaching
- Relevant experience in staff Academic Development and Support
- Ability to teach in English, isiXhosa and/or Afrikaans
- Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities- Provide academic development and support to staff
- Facilitate workshops and lectures in curriculum development
- Conduct research and publish on academic development in higher education and other relevant areas
- Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department
- Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies
- Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of the Department
- Contribute to staff induction and be responsive to curriculum development needs of academic staff
- Contribute to new staff induction
- Contribute to the building of the institutional research culture and capacity through research outputs
