Our client, an up and coming retailer is offering an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to join the Cape town head office team as Matching Clerk. **Position**: Matching Clerk
**Department** : Finance
**Band ** : B
**Location**: Cape Town, Observatory
**Reporting to** : Financial Manager
**Employment ** : Permanent
**Your role at ARC**:
As Matching Clerk, you will drive the company’s finance, administrative and risk processes by implementing and monitoring critical controls and standard operating procedures and by ensuring that GRN’s are examined, matched to invoices and corrections are made timeously.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Business Performance**
- Match GRN’s to invoices.
- Daily reconciliations of all transactions and the rejected administration thereof for stores.
- Assessing and correcting all unmatched transactions.
- Reporting all irregularities to the relevant stores, operations departments, and banks.
- Correcting journals and adjustments.
- Adjusting all incorrect and rejected transactions.
- Liaising with stores and the operations department.
- Perform other ad hoc activities, as required.
**Leadership**
- Manage own personal development through your PDP (Personal Development Plan). Request training and feedback on performance and strive to improve based on these interventions.
- Adhere to the company's values.
- Take personal responsibility for all issues facing the department, work as a team and mentor/coach new employees as required.
- Communicate with your line manager regularly and make recommendations on improving efficiencies in the department.

**Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required**:
- Matric
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Reconciliation experience

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- High School (matric) (required)
**Experience**:
- Reconciliation: 2 years (preferred)
- Basic Accounting knowledge: 2 years (preferred)
