Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern will report and operate under the direction of the Head of Marketing with the following tasks and responsibilities:

- Collaboration with the marketing team to create a valuable input on marketing strategies.
- Co-ordinating the dispatch of all promotional material to various stores and thereafter following up to ensure that items have been received and displayed prominently within the store.
- Ensure feedback from store to the department of any improvements suggested.
- Ensuring the printing and laminating of promotion material is done according to the correct standard to uphold company image.
- Ensure that signage within the organisation is displayed prominently and is up to date whilst being neat and presentable.
- Conduct regular research and analysis within all stores regarding marketing strategies and provide suggestions for improvement.
- Assist with reports for completed promotions, analyse trends within these reports and make suitable recommendations.
- Compile relevant reports utilising data from the systems giving summary’s, recommendations, and areas of concern.
- Monitoring social media platforms for trends, ideas, and feedback.
- Engage in customer feedback in a professional and courteous manner to uphold the brand image.
- Ensure that WhatsApp catalogues and statuses are updated and published timeously.
- Ensure that complex issues are escalated immediately to the superior.
- Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality of the departments’ activities.
- Assisting with requesting of samples and taking photos for advertising.
- Assisting with retail comparisons and how competitors visually merchandise their products.
- Analyse which customers to potentially market in each geographic location.

**The Marketing Intern should possess the following skills, qualities, and qualifications**:

- Ability to think creatively and outside the box.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and to work well in a team.
- Proficiency in social media tools.
- Good organisational skills.
- Drive and determination.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on, team player, passionate, confident, and disciplined.
- Proficiency in using Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook.
- Experience in a marketing role.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Diploma in Marketing is essential.
- Marketing Experience
- Computer literacy
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Computer literate in all Microsoft programs
- Ability to organise and plan
