Retail Manager

**Primary focus**:
To plan and direct and oversee the day-to-day operations/administration of the Farm Shop (Food and Non-Food), Carts, Markets, and other Retail offerings across all _**brick and mortar **_are met.
**Purpose of the role**:
- To lead, manage and educate a team of sales associates and department staff across the Retail environment in all aspects of the daily SOP’s
1. Scheduling for maximum coverage and productivity within budget guidelines, communicate this information with management especially if there is any variants to Budget
2. Follow SOP and implement and conduct stock counts, daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly to ensure accurate stock reporting within the various Retail outlets
3. Clearly describe, assign and delegate outlet staff responsibilities and schedules across the Retail environment. Assist with setting objectives for profit, product quality, hygiene and cleanliness, customer service and safety.
4. Work with GM to continuously evaluate the performance and improvement/development of the personnel in the Retail stores. Plan and administer a training and development program to provide well trained employees at all levels and permit advancement for those persons qualified and interested in career development.
5. Partner with the GM and in line with Retail strategy to implement a pricing strategy and promotional plan using a mixed margin policy
- To ensure store and product quality and service standards are optimised and maintained; ensure that products within the designated department are displayed effectively, prices are marked correctly, and promotional materials are up to date
- To manage the planning and coordination of the weekly Night market/Weekend Markets to capitalise on the retail and customer objectives
- Identify customer characteristics and needs obtained through market research, buying patterns, stock turn patterns, target market, local vs international customers.
- Inventory control: oversee inventory levels and ordering for the instore store to meet customer demand in collaboration with demand planning
- Visual Merchandising:
1. To create planograms that are aligned to current sales for the Retail space, supports the overall Retail strategy and situates displays to maximise and achieve sales objectives
2. Participate in the creation of in-store merchandising materials, displays etc. To promote and merchandise the store based on the customer market
3. Prepare and share visual guides (twice a year) on how to appropriately build out and design visual merchandising areas of the store
4. Be aware of industry trends to remain at the forefront of visual design and merchandising
- To ensure that they use their creativity to combine goals with customer’s desire
- To be an ambassador of the company and give the customer excellent, friendly service which the company can be known for, to live the Company Values in all that we do
**Key Performance Areas **_(Duties and Responsibilities) _:
- Manage stakeholder relationships and product quality with all vendors, internally and externally
- Partner with the GM and in line with Retail strategy to implement a pricing strategy and promotional plan using a mixed margin policy
- Accurate execution of daily handovers, cash-ups, and cash drops.
- Ensure that all required preparation has been done for the next day’s business.
- Correct disposal and documentation of products that are no longer suitable for sale and record and report all breakages, wastage, and maintenance issues.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all offerings within the Estate and Retail offerings.
- Act in accordance with the code of conduct when performing one’s job.
- Report and/or handle any customer related issues to relevant manager.

**Technical Competencies (Essential / Preferred)**
- Knowledge of all relevant health and safety principles and requirements
- Knowledge of MS offices, POS (Point of Sale) systems and general inventory principles
- A valid driver’s license will be beneficial
- Detailed knowledge of the product and industry preferred
- Confident in creating and communicating concepts in business meetings and to supervisors
- Experience researching and determining industry and marketing trends

**Working experience (Essential)**
